Welcome .....

to our Creating Positive Relationships (CPR) Information Section for educators in McKinley County.  We are proud to offer you free of charge this nationally acclaimed curriculum that teaches students to set goals for their life.  Over 5 days this program gives 6th through 12th grade students the information that is needed to prevent risky behaviors such as premarital sex (resulting in pregnancy or STDs) as well as alcohol and drug abuse.

Since 1992....

the Gallup Crisis Pregnancy Center has been an Associate provider of this program in McKinley County, New Mexico.  We believe in reaching our youth before they end up at our Center with an unplanned pregnancy or life threatening STD.  And we have seen results with almost 80% of the students consistently choosing to sign an abstinence pledge at the end of the program.

And every year we reach more students within more schools.  In 2005/6 School year we reached 1802 students.  These students were in

Gallup High School                 JFK Mid School

Gallup Jr. High                       Navajo Mid School

Rehoboth Mid School              Thoreau Mid School

Thoreau High School               Wingate High School

           Zuni High School

Our program is usually scheduled by individual teachers (often health or phys ed classes) but we welcome any contacts from principals, school nurses, coaches etc.
